Louise M. Gleason
SIDNEY — Louise M. Gleason, 71, of Sidney, left us to be with her Lord on Tuesday, June 29, 1999, after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born to the late Charles and Lula Ann (Cain) Stephens on
Oct. 14, 1927, in Wheeling, W.Va.
She married Lawrence E. Gleason on April 22, 1946, in Carbondale,
Pa.
Louise attended the Assembly of God, Sidney, and was at one time
a self-employed hairdresser.
She was a devoted wife to Lawrence E. Gleason Sr., Sidney.
Louise is survived by her son, Lawrence E. Gleason Jr. of
Guilford; two daughters and sons-in-law, Cynthia and Vincent
Capaccio of Ontario and Mary Anne and Michael Porter of Walworth;
one brother, Albert Stephens of Florida; six sisters, Robbie Monroe
of McGraw, Barbara Smith of Marcellus, Claudia McCall of Cortland,
Margaret Coe of Freeville, Shirley Minor of Cortland and
Bonnie
Johnson of Cortland; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren;
and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was also predeceased by three brothers, Robert, Jay C. and
William "Earl" Stephens.
Funeral services will be held Friday, July 2, 1999, at C.H.
Landers Chapel, 21 Main St., Sidney, at 11 a.m. Pastor Randy Eliason
of Sidney Assembly of God will officiate.
Friends may call Thursday, July 1, 1999, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the
funeral chapel. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Sidney.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society
or the Sidney Emergency Squad.
Arrangements are under the direction of C.H. Landers, Inc.,
Sidney.
